Hi, I’m Colette Cunningham, originally from Dublin, Ireland, I  now live in Drogheda, Co. Louth.  I am a home cook, baker, and love to eat out whenever I can, discovering new places, revisiting old favourites, and enjoying great dishes along the way.

I’ve been eating out as a “hobby” if you will, for more years than I care to remember.  Some of my first experiences of restaurants was when I was about six or seven years old.  My late Father worked for an Airline and was away from home for up to 6 – 8 months at a time when I was little. He loved nothing better than taking us all on a mega family holiday when he returned from his travels.

My first memories of a hotel restaurant meal back then was the taste of Green Beans while on holiday in a hotel in Roscarberry, Co. Cork.  That memory never left me; it was how they should taste. Moving forward a few years, and I was a customer in many a “nouvelle cuisine” place in and around Dublin, Ireland.  Some of you will know exactly what I mean… the thinly sliced duck breast accompanied by an equally thinly sliced strawberry…. pretentious nonsense, but, hey, it was the ’80’s!!

So, my opinions are based on an almost lifetime of eating out and enjoying great meals here in Ireland, and on my travels abroad.
